Berea Art Teacher wins prestigious award | Schools

Congratulations to Big Creek art teacher, Kathy Jadud, for being selected to receive Artsonia's Annual Leadership Award, an honor extended to teachers from only ten schools per state across the United States.

Artsonia is the world's largest online kids' art museum (www.arsonia.com), and Big Creek Elementary was ranked #2 in the State of Ohio and #5 in the nation. 

The Leadership Award presented to Kathy Jadud honors teachers who go beyond the classroom walls to encourage family and community involvement in arts education.

The award also recognizes significant achievement in the area of technology integration within the school arts program. During the 2010-2011 school year, the Big Creek Elementary gallery showcased 9220 pieces of artwork.

This popular collection of art has been visited more than 471,222 times and has received 2114 comments from friends and family! "Artsonia is a simple yet effective way to get parents and family members more involved in Art Education," says Kathy, "and my students love it!"
