Fundraiser for local food pantries | Events
The Kiwanis Club of Berea will host its fourth annual "Empty Bowl Soup Kitchen Fundraiser" on Friday, April 19 at the Berea High School cafeteria. The event will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Tickets for the fundraiser are $15 and include a souvenir bowl and a meal of soup, salad, rolls, water and desert.
Proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit Church Street Ministries and other Berea food pantries.
Handcrafted bowls used for the affair are made by art students of the Berea City Schools, Cuyahoga County Community College ceramic classes and AK Studios, a local business owned by ceramic artist Allen Kradlak.
Teachers Jessica Boone and Heather Courtwright are coordinating efforts within the Berea City Schools.
Local businesses Mike's Bar and Grill, Cafe Ah-Roma, Gordon Food Service, Rosander, Dick's Bakery, Bucci's, Berea Printing Company and Green City Growers Cooperative have contributed sponsorship to the fundraising event.
