Garden Fest in Orange Village

Orange Community Education & Recreation presents Garden Fest 2013, a gardening festival on Saturday, May 18 from 10:00am to 3:00pm. It will be held at the Pepper Pike Learning Center on the Orange School Campus at 32000 Chagrin Blvd., Pepper Pike, OH 44124.

Free admission.

This outdoor event will feature vendor booths brimming with plants, annuals, perennials, herbs, arts & crafts, antiques, garden & outdoor products, jewelry, floral décor, etc., plus landscape & design firms too. Be sure to stop by the food booths featuring woodfired pizza, Cupcake-A-Licious gourmet cupcakes, cakepops and other bakery, kettle corn and more.

Proceeds will benefit the Orange Senior Center, a program of Orange Community Education & Recreation

Boot Camp for New Dads

What goes through an expectant dad's mind? The list seems endless! At 'Boot Camp for New Dads', these issues are addressed by our male instructors who are trained in fatherhood and baby care. The challenge of being a new father and the changes experienced by new moms are a few of the issues discussed man-to-man in this unique program.

2013 Buckeye Wheelchair Games

The 2013 Buckeye Wheelchair Games are scheduled for May 17-18, 2013. Competitive events will take place at the SPIRE Institute located at 1822 South Broadway in Geneva, Ohio. The Games promote rehabilitation through rigorous competition in such events as air guns, archery, bowling, field events, billiards, slalom, swimming, table tennis, track, bocce and weightlifting.

Middleburg Hts. Tom Nowak Big Creek Run

The annual 5K Run/1 Mile Walk or Run presented by the Middleburg Hts. Chamber of Commerce and Rec. Dept. and sponsored by Phillips & Mille, LPA will be held on Mother’s Day (Sunday, May 12) at 9 a.m.

Berea schools 3rd grader needs a bone marrow transplant

Brookview Elementary School is having a Marrow Donor Registry Drive on Saturday, May 11 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. The goal is to find a match for Sierra, a 3rd grader at the school. She has Beta Thalassemia Major and a bone marrow transplant is her only chance for a cure.
